As a child I was fascinated with knives.
I read in our local paper about knife makers who traveled to different cities in America to attend knife shows. While reading those stories my interest was piqued, so in 1998 I began making knives in my hometown in South Africa. In 2001, I moved my wife and two children to America and continued my knife making.
To me a knife has to be fully functional as well as beautiful. Not only should they have practical uses, they should also have artistic merit.
I enjoy making folders, but since there are so many hunters in the USA, I also make hunting knifes. Adding to my list of knives are also slip joints, which is a new endeavor for me. It presents a new challenge.
I enjoy making knives immensely and the challenge of making every knife better is what keeps me going.
